I had an issue with my Dell G5 back in early March where it would not start up and it seemed like the battery wouldn’t take a charge. I called support and sent it in for what I was told we be a 7-10 day maintenance. It ended up taking about a month and customer service was pretty awful about keeping me informed, but I believe they ended up replacing my motherboard before sending back. 

Since then, it has been crashing with increasing frequency for most of the last month and it’s gotten to the point where I’ll usually get a blue screen within an hour if I just have it turned on (even if it’s just sitting on the Lock Screen. 

The error codes on the blue screen are either “DPC Watchdog Violation” or “Driver Power State Failure”. I’ve also noticed some weird patterns from the LED next to the power light, most notably a pattern of four white flashes, followed by 1 amber flash. The fan also pretty frequently makes a lot of noise, even when the laptop is closed and nothing else is running.

I’ve already tried updating and refreshing drivers on the hardrive, display and battery, and running a system scan in the command prompt. 

Anybody have any advice or guidance? I’m hoping to avoid needing to send it in again, but any tips would be very appreciated.
