Is Alienware 15 R3 giving problems with GPU rendering too?
Hi Everyone.
I need a Pascal laptop urgently (within the next few weeks)
But I have been reading alot of issues with AW 15 R3 (Heating and display problems)
I know these complaints are from gamers, but I am not getting this machine for games. Rather I want to use it for GPU rendering with Octane render.
Is there anyone here using this machine for GPU rendering ? Do you have similar complaints like the gaming community.
Any help and comments would be useful.
I am considering 4K, 1070, 32 gig configuration.

A lot of useres complaint uneaven Heatsinks on their machines, the "quick and dirty" fix is to repaste CPU and GPU and also bend the screw-holes a little bit about to raise preasure on the DIE´s.
Please take in mind, you won´t get what you pay for ;) until there´s an official statement from DELL´s side about an updated / fixed headpipe on the AW15R3 i would prefer to wait.
Here´s the link in which condition i received my new 15 inch Pascal notebook (uneaven soft touch finish, flex on the bottom left side, alienwarelogo on backside contains a scratch from the inner side, and also no gaming possible due to heat issues) :emotion-16:
Apart of all of that, the display 4K display is awesome (good black levels, good viewing angel and nice colors, it´s fast, it´s awesome as seems IGZO nonglare) i guess it´s a pretty awesome device, it´s flat, good build quality (in case of no issues)... only downsize is the weight, but this is upon interpretation. The ports are superb, Trackpad and Keyboard works supernice ... all fine, and blingbling.
