I cannot believe this!
I have bought a XPS 13 developer edition for my company. After waiting two weeks, I received the xps in my desk. I start installing my project repositories and after a few minutes my wireless connection drops. This happens during the next two days while I attempt to install my developer environment into this computer. I try installing the backports wifi driver, disabling hw encryption, upgrading to 12.10, 13.04, 13.10 without success. I do this while connected to the wired ethernet through a usb-to-ethernet dongle.
Seriously Dell: How it is possible to ship such a product? I mean, because we are developers this doesn't mean we are supposed to hack the kernel in order to get the wifi working!
It is difficult to find a laptop in which the wireless in linux doesn't work. I can even install linux in a macbook air without much trouble. But then Dell comes and designs a laptop specifically to put linux on it, without wired ethernet connector, but with a faulty wifi driver.
Seriously Dell: linux works, you don't.
The problem I have is exactly the same as described here The syslog entries are the same. This is happening to a lot of people. It has been acknowledge by Dell technical support here
I don't have the time or a valid windows license to install. I have spent enough time with this problem. The technical support at dell doesn't know about ubuntu, and they don't allow me to return this equipment. I have no words to describe how upset I am.
Please Dell take note: following these steps fixed the problem with the Qualcomm Killer WiFi card. Please add these drivers to the kernel shipped with the XPS Developer Edition..
The hardware looks fantastic, you are in the right direction but failures like this cannot happen. This kind of things is what makes peopble say that "linux is not ready for the desktop".

Did you try to install windows on it?
Wi-Fi is working on my Ubuntu installation so it might be a hardware fault!!
