Blue Screen due to graphics driver

In the last month or so, my M17x R4 has been getting blue screen errors, and after some online research I tracked it to my graphics driver(s). I am running the default driver that came with the system, and even tried downloading the driver again from the recommended driver section for my system on the dell website, but nothing has changed. I receive the blue screen errors when watching videos in VLC, on the internet (Not youtube as of yet), or when playing games (specifically minecraft, but the game does not have to be loaded. It happens when playing, when at the main menu, and even at the login screen before actually loading anything). Using BlueScreenView, I found that the errors are being caused by the driver dxgkrnl.sys which is the graphics driver according to some quick research, and I've tried many solutions that other people have tried.

My specs are:

Alienware M17x R4,  3rd Gen i7-3610QM @ 2.3, 2GB Radeon HD 7970M, 12GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 1600, Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di, 1TB RAID 0 (2x 500GB) 7200RPM, Internal Bluetooth, Killer Wireless-N 1103 network card

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

The graphics drivers are:

AMD Radeon HD 7970M version 8.973.0.0

Intel HD Graphics 4000 version 8.973.0.0

I tried downloading the latest software/driver from AMD, and it said my hardware was not compatible, so it did not install, so I stuck with the Dell recommended and it seems to all be up to date.
