Hard Drive/Computer problem
machine: Alien X51 (Early 2012)
I know i have bad sectors on my hard drive from a scan i did ages ago.
but i've recently moved and my computer seems to "crash"
i have a black screen saying i don't have a hard rive and to press f1 to retry, f2 to go to system screen or f3 for something else
i tend to press f2 > save changes (which are none) and restart
i've done a Dell Scan and it says that i have a critical hard disk failure and to replace the hard drive
things it failed on are:
ST31000524AS ATA Device
Targeted Read Test
Failed
ST31000524AS ATA Device
SMART Short Self Test
Failed
everything else was fine
how easy is it to change the hard disk?
i'm out of dell warranty and if i extended/upgraded would they change it for me?
(or do i go to PC world)
(or do i go to PC world)
i have the disks that it came with so that wont be an issue and i have no problem changing it if it needs doing
ohh and how can i fix a broken USB (the little bit of plastic that guides the usb into the
computer at the front has snapped off also)

the video shows the computer being completely taken apart (slightly over kill for what i need but gives me an idea of what i need to do)
is there anyway of finding out what if i have a duel or single hard drive?
from the recommendations when i did the Dell scan the link below should be the correct hard drive. But i cant find anything on the website re replacement little plastic usb/usb devices from your self (which i might be leaving as looking at the video i need to completely dismantle to get to...)

You will see two connectors going to the Hard Drive space if you have 2 HDDs.
If you switch the HDD completely, you will need to Install Windows from scratch.

Nothing to worry about.
You can follow this video from our Alienware Services channel.
It will walk you through on how to safely open the computer and take out hard Drive and that broken USB port you're talking about.
