My laptop can't boot up, can't get to Alienware logo screen, and continuously short beep 5 times. I read thru the Beep code table it says is CMOS battery failure.

I got the m14x r2 on 2012. Last used it was ~9months ago. So most probably is the battery problem.

Q1: What is the spec (voltage/ model) and physical information (2pin / 3pin connector) about the battery? so I can get the correct battery to replace it.

Q2: Can this CMOS battery boot failure ever get skipped? (I don't mind if the BIOS setting was reset to default every time). I read the Knowledge base, it have to press FN key while powered up. But I tried that and not working. It just keep continue beeping 5 times indefinitely. Or the battery "must" be working well in order to boot it up?
