I have Canon MultiPass F20 printer connected to my Dimension 8300 computer via USB port.
On the BIOS startup process if the printer is turned on, the system is just freezes and cannot continue to boot. It even cannot go to the system configuration (F2). Diagnostic lights at the back show the following: A,B are green; C,D are orange.
If the printer is off or disconnected the boot is absolutely normal.
If printer is switched on or connected to already booted system it is working just fine without any problems.
I didn't have this problem with this printer on my old computer.
