ATI Driver on Dell E510
Running Windows XP MCE on my E510. I reinstalled XP according to Dell and followed the instructions for installing the drivers. All of this was done using the Dell Reinstallation DVD and Dell Resources CD I got with my PC.
Everything went fine, but everytime I start Windows I get the following warning screen - "The ATI Control Panel failed to initialize becayse no ATI driver is installed, or ATI driveris not working properly. The ATI Panel will now exit."
I then went to Device Manager- Display Adapters which showed that
Radon X600 256MB Hyper Memory - Disabled
Radon X600 256MB Hyper Memory Secondary - Disabled
I elected to enable each adapter and did a restart, which got me a black screen that required me to manually shut down, restart to safe mode, disable both adapters, restart in normal mode. I still get the above warning message.
I then tried disabling one adapter at a time to no avail, same problem on both adapters. I also tried reinstalling the ATI drivers and got the same Warning result.
I also cannot use Media Center because it advises that the video card or drivers are not compatable with Media Center. Mecia Center opens but, only the Internet Connection, Games & Picture portions are functioning.
Any recommendations?
Thank you.,
Tony
