Audio driver doesn't work
Hi everyone,
My integrated soundcard had some issues idk and it stopped working!
So I bought an "ESS Maestro2e PCI Audiodrive (WDM)" I putted it in the PCI slot. [I didnt't remove the integrated one since it's integrated]
I ran the little Driver CD that came with the pack and installed the driver but the problem is that the sound seems so noisy and the max volume is kinda quiet
it really sucks idk if I properly installed the driver so if someone can send me a tutorial for doing it or the download link for the driver if I installed the wrong one!

All drivers I have seen for this audio card are some what dated. Was the card gathering dust on a shelf somewhere? I think the latest driver I have seen for this card is dated 2001. If your operating system is Vista or Windows 7 you may have a problem with the card generating good sound.

I'm on Windows XP SP3 Pentium 4.
Last time I checked the bios for the intergrated audio to disable it, it was already disabled I guess, I'll go check again!

If the card is as old as noted (or a new old stock card) I would suspect the card is the problem.

What model PC and what Operating System? We can only give you general suggestions without it.
However, if you are using a separate sound card, you need to disable the Integrated Audio in the BIOS. Press F2 at Power on to enter the Setup. In the Setup will be an option to disable the Integrated audio. It may be labeled "Legacy Audio". After you disable it, save the changes when you exit the setup.
As far as the new sound card, the card manufacture is the best one to check for instructions on how to install their sound card. Generally, you just run the driver disc that comes with the card (if it's for the OS you have) and it will automatically install what is needed.
