Blue Tooth Keyboard problem
I know this is a dumb question, but here it goes. After powering on this morning, my keyboard does not respond, but my mouse works fine.... new batteries installed, still notta.
Can someone tell me the order of resetting the USB rcvr and keyboard? I've tried doing similar to other products; press and hold button on rcvr and keybd, then release, I've tried doing them sequentially... still notta..... so i broke down and used my wired kybd to finish my project.
Any help would be good, since this is not in My 531 manual.

MD, thx for the thought, but it's a home setting and only one other USB device, no obvious conflict... weird thing is it just quit... no warning, no new s/w or updates, just a power-up and notta. I've tried other USB slots, but will try again.... we use wireless for legit reasons... RU familiar with SWMBO? Having been married 30 years, it translates: She Who Must Be Obeyed...as in, "when momma's happy, the whole house is happy... she's writing a book and needs to change seating position alot... need I say more?Thx,jerryManyDimensions

PoppaJerryI am beginning to question whom is the most stubborn. Try a new wireless keyboard. If that does not resolve the problem, return it.MDPoppaJerry

MD, good thoughts, everyone..... I recently built her a 3 piece workstation, two side tables and a center piece ( something like many of us use in cubicleland, but) from cabinet grade oak ply, poplar structure and stained "just the way she wanted it"..... she's more proud of it than I, but IT'S HERS!!! (My way of getting away from it all; I'm a novice woodworker of about 3.5 years, just doing some tables and cabinetry for family and friends). She has a pretty decent ( somewhat ergonomic) chair and knows "the rules", she likes the freedom from wires.... I think it's as much asthethic as anything else, but who am I to deny her such pleasure, OR question her motives?BTW, back to the original ??, do I click the rcvr and kybd buttons simultaneously, or in some sequence... there are no outward signs of success or failure, but either method does nothing for the kybd, and the mouse always stays operational.thx, jerryManyDimensions

PoppaJerryOh yes, I am very familiar with the term SWMBO.If you want to keep momma happy and avoid pulling out your remaining hair, try buying her a comfortable (high quality) chair and wired devices. There is nothing more productive than a comfortable egonomic environment. Be sure to take her along when selecting a comfortable chair and wired devices. After all, it is she who will be the final judge. Do your homework first.By the way, a workstation is just that, and may be a single stand alone work center. There is no reasonable solution for misbehaving wireless devices. I have delt with many over the years. I also have a happy home and am a grandfather. So yes, I do know from where you stand.MDPoppaJerry

yeah, it's more that I'm one of those (OCD) who won't give up easily and hate to have a machine beat me.... then I have to deal with "it's a DELL" and all that come with returns and such... I hate it.Thx for the words,jPoppaJerry

PoppaJerryI am assuming that you have reloaded the original drivers from the Dell supplied driver disc. You might consult eBay for a new Dell wireless keyboard of the same model. Your return option may be limited to zero, but the reduced final cost should make up for the Dell restocking fee.Just a thought. But I do stand on the wired alternative as a primary resolution.Good luck, and give momma a hug for me.MD
