The hard drive on my E521 goes through a read/write cycle every second even when no applications are running.

 

I've had exchanges with tech support. They advised restoring the system to the original configuration that it came with from the factory. I did that but the problem was there even immediately after the restore. Now they say it might be malware.

 

I'd like to hear from others who have a E521 shipped within the last month and who has Windows Media Center. Do you see a constant blinking of your hard drive light? I'm looking for a "virgin" E521 to compare with.
