Hi folks.

I'm noticing an issue on my Inspiron 620 with Windows 7 for the past few months that really seems irritating and getting worse. Here's how it goes:

1. Have the machine off for at least 5 minutes.

2. Power on.

3. It posts fine, blue progress bar fills in super fast. Then the screen goes black and cursor blinks in top left corner. Problem is it stays there for a good 25 seconds. Afterwards, it goes to a completely blank screen for almost 2 minutes! Then Windows starts to boot.

Things I've verified/checked:

*no media in any of the drives/USB/card readers.

*Has a second hard drive which was never a boot drive. I've even moved it to Sata 2 instead of Sata 1, while OS drive is Sata 0.

*In the bios, I've disabled all boot devices except for the primary drive on Sata 0.

*Flashed to newest BIOS

*Reverted default settings in BIOS

*performed 2 chkdsk functions with /r to fix anything found

*unplugged all Sata drives except for the primary drive.

Nothing seems to resolve this long delay. Here's where it gets funny. If I do a warm reboot, I post very quickly and the OS begins loading right away! EVEN if I do a cold boot within a 3 minute window, it will boot up right away. 

BUT if I cold  boot after 5 minutes of being powered off, I get the long 2 minute wait. I can't understand if this is an OS thing or a hardware thing.

Has anyone else encountered this? Ideas on what I can look for?
