Interrupt assignemnt

I need to have a not shared irq assigned to my pci board inserted on the pci bus of gx280.
Bios assigns automatically the number of irq to my pci board and the number is alwais shared
with another resource.
Is there the possibility to manually assign the irq through an utility or some other way?

thank you for help

    emagzz,

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.

Can you tell us what device this is and how it was determined that it needs it's own IRQ?

The device that I am using is a special NIC PCI Card used in industrial automation.
I need to have a not shared IRQ because the sotware that I use for guaranteeing the management realtime of this card doesn't have to have IRQ shared with other cards that it uses windows.

In past I have used many Dell pc(gx260- gx270 - 170L) and in these cases I have always succeeded in making to assign me from the bios an exclusive IRQ.
With the gx 280 don't succeed there. If I put the card of the bus 0 the bios it assigns the IRQ 11 in the bus 1 the IRQ 10, that are both used by other devices. Many bios allow to manually assign the IRQ for the bus pci.
Is  possible to have this also with Dell?

    Thank you for you assistance

In the Bios you can Assign IRQs but the need for this is rare.

It displays information about interrupt request (IRQ) channels on your system, and it indicates which devices are assigned to each channel. The operating system allows you to use only certain IRQs. Other IRQsare reserved for a standard set of devices.

If there is a sharing conflict with an IRQ, such as a mouse not responding, use Device Manager to locate and troubleshoot the problem. For more information about what devises are set to and to change them, In Control Panel/Sytem Properties/Hardware/Device Manager/ you can go to the device with this problem and then go to Properties, some devices will allow you to make changes here as well.

you can find out more information in the Help & Suport" tab in the Start menu.

    I hope this helps.
