I have tried every solution I have read on various forums and troubleshooting websites and nothing has worked!!!

My Dell Dimension E510 was upgraded from XP to Vista about a year ago and I have since updated/upgraded about all the device drivers... my realtek HD sound driver is up to the miinute. but nothing I do will get the sound manager to show that a microphone is plugged in to the pink jack.

Is there something I'm not doing?
