New to Dell, need input
Hello, I am a new Dell customer. My husband and I have always dealt with high end computers like Alienware and Falcon Northwest (who by the way ROCKS!) But I just couldn't afford to go with either this time around, Dell had financing which was nice, and I have read some decent reviews of thier systems. We need alot of performance and stability, as we both are big gamers and I also am on the net alot. I'm supposed to recieve my system this tuesday and am very anxious but also don't really know what to expect. We once had a piece of krap Compaq that used bad quality parts, was totally unstable and gave nothing but errors, our Falcon on the other hand I have hardly had one error in the year I've had it and it runs like a dream in games and applications. What should I be looking forward to with this Dell (its the Dimension 8200), please just lay it out and be honest. I don't want a lot of unneccesary stuff running in the background or in start-up, I don't want the system to be loaded down, we like to keep our system resources around 94-98% free. What kind of power supply does it have, is this pc set at 4x AGP? (I HOPE so) Is it easy to get into your own bios if you need to? Are there alot of compatibility issues with the Dells? Do they build for performance? Are they easy to upgrade and not integrate anything? Please tell me all you can, thank you!
