Last night I was doing some word processing and my system went into standbye mode. Usually I can just click the mouse or keyboard and no problems......Nothing happened this time.

I had to hold the power button down to reboot. After it rebooted, my monitor said that my computer was still in standbye mode. I tried rebooting to cd rom....no luck, tried rebooting to floppy....nothing. It wouldn't even let me get into cmos.

Nothing on my screen other than the black screen and the message, Monitor is in Power save mode Activate using pc.

When I reboot the pc....it sounds like the hard drive is warming up....and it sounds like there is a bit of hard drive activity...then nothing but the internal fan sound.

I have a p4 1.4 8100

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks
