I have 256 MB of RAM on this Dell Dimension 4300, Pentium 4, Windows XP Home Edition, BIOS A02 running a Sygate Firewall & Norton AntiVirus 2002. What I see under System Info is "Total Physical Memory = 256 MB" and "Available Physical Memory = 68 MB" thats with no applications open other than Windows and what is in Start Up. With MS Word open, that drops to 62 MB. With 5 windows open, it drops to 45 MB. Do I need more RAM? Does Windows XP normally use up this much RAM? Maybe I should have ordered this computer with 512 MB of RAM?
