I have a Dimension 8400 with the 17" E173FPB Flat Panel Display.  The speakers are the AS500 14W Flat Panel Stereo Speakers (attached to the monitor).  Sound Card is Sound Blaster Live 24-bit Advanced HD Audio.

 

Am I stuck with these speakers or can I upgrade?
