Brand new 4500--- I cannot put in standby without getting dell message that the keyboard is blocking the attempt. how do I reload the keyboard software?
Time after time it is stated on Dell Talk that standby mode is designed for laptop computers where it is critical to conserve battery life. It will eventually fail on desktop systems because it is not critical and all of the components are not necessarily designed well enough to make it work. The solution is to set your power savings settings to turn of the monitor and the hard disk after a specified period of time and set standby and hibernate to never.
