WORD 2000 Error Code

The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online
help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable
macros.

The above is the error code I get when I try to open Word on my new XP
Dell Computer. I have searched the FAQ's and asked many techs that
should know and can find no answer as to why this code keeps popping up.
This is not an upgrade, it came with the new system I purchased a couple
months ago.
It is Dell Computer
1.7 mgHz coprocessor
256 meg RAM
40 gig HD
XP Operating system
I am not having any luck getting rid of this error code. Can you help?
