XPS 420 Installing a second graphic card

I'm attempting to install a second graphic card (so that I can add more than 2 monitors), the card that came in the computer is the GeForce 8600 GTS, the card I'm trying to install is GeForce 6200 PCI.  When I install the second card the system boots into windows and then starts loading the driver for the new video card, it runs for a couple minutes then the BSOD.  When it reboots it goes into Windows startup recovery and sits without booting.  If I remove the new card it boots to the Windows startup recovery and after several minutes (20 -30) it boots up into Windows.  Is there some trick to getting an additional video card to work?

The Bluescreen info is:  BCCode: d1, BC P1: 8E453930, BC P2: 00000002, BC P2: 00000008, BC P4: 8E453930.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
