Battery Issue
So, I bought the Alien ware R2 15 inches from 2016. After about like a 8 months, it shows "Battery is permanently damaged and needs to be replaced. But I can still use it while charging so I use it until I got a new one which was last 2 weeks ago. I bought the battery from Singapore an official DELL shop and I replaced the batteries. It was charging for 2 hours, then it showed the same thing again. "Battery is permanently damaged and needs to be replaced. So I couldn't use it without the electricity. I am scared this might happen another time if I buy another sets of battery and that I live in Myanmar so buying one is hard. Please give me suggestions on how to handle this. Thank you!

Hi ZWEWOLF1,
Is the system under warranty? Where have you purchased the system from?
If the replacement battery purchased is designed for this system and also exhibits the same behavior, then the issue could be with the motherboard.
Update the BIOS and check if it works fine.
Restart the system and press f2 on startup to enter BIOS - check if the adapter is detected in BIOS. And check the battery health in BIOS.
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.
If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.
Let us know if you have any other queries.
