When at home I hook my Vostro 1500 to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse.  Since I don't need to access the Vostro monitor or keyboard, I'd like to be able to close it after powering it up so that I can tuck it under my monitor stand.  Right now, it goes into "hibernate" mode as soon as I close it. 

I can't find anything in the manual about disabling the "hibernate on close" function.  Is there anyway around this?  Obviously the open laptop takes up a lot more space on my desk.
