Dell's updates

Hello.

How can I find out which Dell's updates I need?
I've been browsing the update's Dell site, but it's not clear because there are several updates listed but it doesn't say which ones I need.
Is there a scanning tool that can do that after checking my systems?
And where do I find that?

Thanks,

Steff

Which particular updates were you wondering about?  You're right, the update site does list updates for any possible hardware that could have come with a 9200, not just what you have

I'm not looking for a particular one, but I can see there are many updates available, some newer than others, and I'm wondering if I need any of them.
The Dell site should be able to scan my PC/notebook given the tag number and find the updates I need.
I think it should work that way, kind of similar to the Windows/Microsoft update page.
Otherwise, how can I find out which ones I need?

umm ... you need to match a particular update to the hardware you have, then download and install it.  I don't think dell has anything that automated yet, although I could be wrong

    Download the Belarc Advisor,

it will tell you everything about your machine, all hardware and software (models, versions, serial numbers, specs, everything).  You could print out the report and then when you go on Dell website you can see if there is any newer versions and so on.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm sure it doesn't take much for Dell to interact a program like that and the updates available, coming out with the ones needed: wouldn't it be nice to have the list ready instead of manually looking for it?

    Cheers,

    Steffo
