I was using my camera with Cyberlink You cam and was tinkering with different settings, while doing so my camera suddenly lost brightness and went almost totally black. It was not dead as i can barely see my hand moving in front of camera though. Initially i thought that this is some software malfunction and tried uninstalling the software but it didn't worked out. 

I then formatted my system and re installed everything from scratch. A clean windows installation and installation of all drivers one by one in correct order but the problem is still there.

I dont have backup partition in my machine.

I have started to think that the camera module has physically malfunctioned. Need your support in diagnosis.
