Hi

I got the laptop in march 2008. The laptop did seem to be getting quite hot, i was worried about it over heating, so i did some googling, and installed the bios update and made sure to keep the laptop on a desk and as cool as possible. I did this about a month after getting the laptop.

However recently I can be doing something really simple, just chatting on msn with an internet explorer page open, and the laptop screen will either go black, colours will get all mixed up, and most of the time the screen goes all yellow. The laptop then freezes and i have to hold down the power button, restart, then hold down the power button again before it will come on without any problems. However the laptop can only last about 10 minutes before crashing again.

I was wondering, whether this means my graphics card is dead because i have heard alot of stories, about other peoples cards failing too.

If this is the case, can somebody tell me what would happen? Would it be a replacement graphics card or something else?

By the way, i have just turned on my laptop, and all i get is black and yellow vertical stripes on the screen, i cannot get into the bios, or windows. Don't know if that information helps =(
