Right Shift Key

I have just got my new Inspiron 6400 (aka E1505). The right shift key doesn't work as it should. When it is pressed, it responsed like a CTRL key. I tried it with several applications, ie. notepad, Word, it just doesn't responsed like a shift key should.

When I tried it on a DOS prompt, holding down the right shift with alphabets, I don't see capitalized letter. And I have also tried it in BIOS setup page. Holding down right shift while navigating with arrow keys are not working as well. (All the above works with the left shift key)

Anyone has any idea how to resolve this?

I have the same computer and the same problem. The right shifit key does not work (when you press it to capitalize a letter nothing appears in the document, and sometimes it appears as if the right shift key is trying to operate a command (but nothing happens). This problem is more pronounced when I use Outlook then in Word. Did you find a solution?

Sounds like this is a manufacturing issue.. perhaps this issue is in the same batch of products that came out from the factory?

Anyway, I have called up to Dell support and they have decided to provide a system exchange for me.  I hope the new one doesn't have the same problem.

Did you try calling Dell support yet?

Actually I was sent a replacement keyboard at first. After replacing it, the same problem exists. They told me the problem could be with the mainboard. That's why there's a system replacement.
