It's new and its diffrent from my M782 17" and i have to admit the old is what i'm use too the looks the smooth clear screen the fonts ....this one well the fonts look fuzzy and seem to look faded in spots and i'm not sure this is normal i did go and readjust the res. to 1024x786 and if i go to what they want me too all the menues and all are so small and out of foces ..( forgive the spelling ) and the fonts are worse lol so i did go to the control panle and i did find the settings for the monitor and did select clear fonts so taht helped a bit lol and it all seems to work well except the lock settings mode that dont work at all lol unless my 3 second count is diffrent then the monitors lol but if any of you have ideas and soulioions please let me know ..thank you

i did that lol and all that you described lol but if i did take the res. to the max the icons and all are too small to see ..one thing i did learn is pus the monitor back 6-8" as if your use to a crt this one the print and icons and all look a lot clearer ....so one thing you can do in display settings (apearence) is go to advanvce and change the icon settings and the fonts and every thing else and choose a font that looks good and clear ..i also adjusted the brillince too ..i'm a lot more happier and it does take a bit to get use too as well ..but tahnk you for your help ..have a great day
I have had an 1800FP for about 8 months and am still awaiting a startup problem resolution.
When the PC is started (running Win2000 Pro SP4) the screen displays the boot info and then the Windows 2000 startup screen. After this, when the log on screen is supposed to appear, the screen goes black and the green light goes off (totally off - no amber). In order for the screen to come back on I have to unplug the monitor and plug it back in and all is then fine. If I just put the PC into hibernate upon coming out of hibernation there is no problem.
I have the latest driver installed (v 3.0) and using an analog video connection (Via VT8361/VT8601, Adapter type KLE/PLE) built into the motherboard.
I have asked this question numerous times and have received no response. Does Dell intend to address this ongoing problem or just ignore it?
