Cleaning 2007WFP

How do I clean my 2007WFP? I looked in the documentation but found nothing.

    8. With a flashlight, (while the LCD is turned OFF), inspect the screen for white specks (normal from shipping), sticky substances, fingerprints, smudges, milky white film from being whipped with a damp rag at manufacturing facility.\

    9. See Dell User Guide on the CD and/or FAQ’s for cleaning at Dell Community Forum for specific cleaning instructions.

    10. Remove white specks with a 100% cotton white soft damp “not wet” handkerchief or cloth or eyeglass material cloth. (don’t get any liquid in the seams on any side of the bezel, especially the bottom, the liquid can wick upwards into the LCD and ruin the display) Check with flashlight frequently as you move from area to area.. Clean small areas at a time to remove big marks. Then wipe entire screen off.

    11. Use a clean 100% cotton white soft dry cloth to get the milky film off your cloth just left. Wipe small areas 3”x3” or 4”x4” or so in a circular motion 3 or 4 times in a clockwise direction and then repeat in reverse direction, counter clockwise. Repeat if necessary as some areas may be more stubborn than others. When you have finished you will have a fantastic looking screen. Don’t press to hard while wiping as to bend or flex the panel, just firm enough to remove the milky film.

    ATF,
Why didn't you mention that most of what you have stated is not in the manuals;)
The manual needs to be revised with - 'how to clean the screen of your 'new' refurbished
monitors.'  Plus - 'This happens often because of our techs. that love to rub the greese
from inside with their hands or a cloth & proceed to remove said panel for inspection &/or
change the secret dithering or firmware'.  &  'If you require a non reflective screen then just
rub over lightly with a paper towel to spread the marks evenly'. 'We try to give our customers
as many options as we can with revisions, panels, & reflective screens (if you follow our
cleaning advice note: not the one for non reflective screens)'
'Please note that the choice of stands can allow for people who rest on their right elbow, &
also for left elbow leaners & even some for normal people'
The above is just a joke (or is it?) for some people's sense of humor.
    You there archange1??
    cheers

I got a laugh out of it:)

The milky film is from manufacturing, they wipe the screens with damp cloths, and they don't use a dry one to get the film off. White specs are just from shipping, they stopped putting the info. for that in the boxes.

They don't wear gloves when handling the screens or take time to clean them properly.
Although the Mexico A03's were cleaner than the China A02's.

Lol...the China/mexico thing is actually true! :) My first A02 from China had a greasy fingerprint on the right front of the bezel (should have pulled out my CSI kit) yet my second A02 from Mexico was spotless and seemed to be packed a little more carefully. I guess being closer to the big bosses in Round Rock keeps the Mexico plant on the straight and narrow path..
