I have a 1080P Dell monitor (Yep, that's right, a 1080P!). I bought it at Best Buy about 7 years ago. Most of its lifetime it's been on 24/7/365. I've unplugged it a few times but most of its lifetime, it's been on, either active or sleeping.

I have a Mac mini so I want a Mac-compatible monitor..

For a while now, sometimes when I turn it on, I'll see snow or the desktop with a magenta background. When that happens, I turn it off & then back on again & everything is normal. I'd say that it is dying.

I've been researching the different brands. I ordered a 27 inch 4K non-Dell brand from Best Buy to try out. I basically like it but the text at 4K is so tiny! The brand is Mac-compatible but I have the resolution set on 2K. I don't want to pay for a 4K monitor & set the resolution at 2K. So, I'm reshopping for a 2K monitor.

On the Best Buy website, the OS compatibility is listed as either a dash or "Not applicable" or the OSes are listed like Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. I wonder what "Not applicable" means. I have a Mac but I want to try out Linux.

I'm gonna browse around the Dell website for a 27 inch 2K Mac-compatible monitor.

Then I'll ask for advice from you guys on recommendations.
