GeForce 6800 widescreen compatibility

Hello, I have a 2-year-old Dimension 8400 with an nVidia GeForce 6800 card. I'm thinking about replacing my current Dell 17" LCD display with a widescreen display (the Dell E207WFP looks nice to me). The E207WFP has a resolution of 1680x1050. Currently, the max resolution I can select for my 17" display is 1280x1024. Will my GeForce 6800 support the widescreen format? Would the new monitor come with new drivers that would allow me to take advantage of the new monitor's native resolution? Or would the new monitor require me to also purchase a more powerful graphics card? Thanks for your help, Steve
