Hi,I have a U2711 monitor that is about 2 and a half years old.I have problems with this monitor which Dell confirms.
They are sending me a replacement in the next few days(which is fine).
My question is:
Under the terms of warranty,I am entitled to a replacement monitor.I am also of the understanding that Dell do not repair monitors. Can someone from Dell(or someone who has experienced similar)tell me what "refurbished"means?Yes,I know it's second hand, but how does it come to be "refurbished"when Dell does not repair monitors(at least not in Australia)?
My worry is that I may get a monitor which is worse than the one I have!Push comes to shove,I could learn to live with the one I have if the replacement(s)is worse.
Naturally, after 2.5 years,I dont expect a new one but I guess I will wait and see what(if anything!),arrives.I might add that so far,I have no complaints with Dell and hope it stays that way.
Cheers from Australia!

Hi diken78,
Refurbished monitors are not exactly second hand monitors but it may be brand new ones which are not all used. For instance a customer buys a monitor but it doesn’t get delivered to him/her due to various reasons like customer cancelled or wrong address. We cannot sell these monitors to other customers as a brand new one nor do we have an option to sell refurbished ones. So when a monitor needs to be replaced we send these monitor which is as good as a new one. Nevertheless replacement monitor will carry the same warranty as the original one.
