Here's the sRGB mode crushing blacks and making every shade below 4 impossible to see

And here's how grainier the shades are in sRGB mode

How? Why? What are my options? I should still have a couple of months of warranty left (bought in November 2014), is it considered a defect and is replaceable? Or would I be better off getting my hand on a colorimeter and doing it manually?
