U2415, no 16:9 aspect ratio?
I just received my U2415 the other day, and I noticed it only supports 16:10, 4:3, and 5:4 aspect ratios through the OSD. Are there plans to release a firmware update that will add 16:9 support? It seems odd not to support 16:9 - it will prevent users from being able to use the monitor with external devices such as game consoles, Blu-ray players, cable boxes, etc.

I chatted last week with someone that "confirmed" that it did but i guess that isn't the case.. I was really hoping it did.... bummer.

The correct information is in the User's Guide. I will reach out to Dianne to correct them.

Any answer as to why a 16:10 monitor would lack letterbox support for 16:9? That is a common sense feature that almost every other 16:10 monitor contains. I bought this monitor without even checking because as an engineer I would have to go out of my way not to include this feature. Will be returned and probably won't buy a dell monitor again.

You have every right to return the monitor for refund within the first 30 days from the Dell invoice date.

Customers should not be required to read the user guide to be made aware of a major shortcoming like this. Monitors should support most major aspect ratios, especially when it dominates the market like 16:9. Also, this response is not sufficient. If Dell currently does not have plans to issue a firmware update, where can a request for one be made?

The U2415 was never designed to do 16:9. This was a design choice made by the manufacturer. There are no plans to add 16:9 to this monitor. The online U2415 User's Guide, page 43 =
The sales site also shows the supported aspect ratio =
