OK, back to the first post - do you get error with checker only or with NMM itself when trying to connect to SQL instance? Did you previously use NMSQL where this worked?
The problem is that NMM SQL backups on this server completed with failure.
The error message is:
savegrp: suppressed 2 lines of verbose output
63372:nsrsnap_vss_save:NMM .. Registration of snapshot set failed -- NMM .. Operation unit failed with error Please make sure you have configured at least one NetWorker Device and client resources are configured for the application host[***] and the proxy client[***] on NetWorker Server [***]
77175:nsrsnap_vss_save:NMM .. completed commit replica with status of false.
63335:nsrsnap_vss_save:NMM backup failed to complete successfully.
What version of NMM are you using? And back to the question about the checker, did you run the config checker to validate your environment prior to the installation? I
It looks like you are using previous version of NMM without NMSQL integrated. I would suggest to start with NMSQL alone first (5.2SP2). In recent version of NMM (2.4), NMSQL is included and it would be my weapon of choice against SQL backup.

Could it be that user you run this check with does not have enough privileges to attach to SQL server?
