Render Log - Date/Time Switch

Hi could someone answer a networker render log questions?

Q - I looking to render log file from start of day 00:00:00 daily, looking at the CMD guide It mentions that;

"With the ’l’ specification if no start time or an invalid start time is specified then the time is mapped to
the start of the day (00:00:00)"

Q - Does this require both -S & -E switches as well as -L as when I just add the start with the "l" switch it doesnt start at  00:00:00, or even the date/time I referenced?

nsr_render_log -L -S "l May 6 09:00" ..\logs\daemon.raw > daemon.log

    a) just do -S 'today 00:00:00" and you should be fine (if running this today).  If not, you will have to add -E to specify end range too and obviously modify -S for yesterday or whatever you will use).

    b) I think you misunderstood manual.  Here is example:

    # date

    Sat May 10 21:22:08 METDST 2014

    # nsr_render_log -S '05/08/14 00:00:00' -E '05/08/14 23:59:59' /nsr/logs/daemon.raw | head -1

    70919 05/08/14 00:00:00  0 0 2 1 7708 0 hcrvelin nsrd NSR info client:ORCL:/FULL_DB_FOO_grp7nn90/ done browsing

    # nsr_render_log -S '05/08/14 00:00:00' -E '05/08/14 23:59:59' /nsr/logs/daemon.raw | tail -1

    70896 05/08/14 23:59:57  0 0 2 1 7708 0 hcrvelin nsrd NSR info client:RMAN:ORCL:/FULL_DB_BAR_k7p7qcfr/ saving to pool 'ble' (ble.042)

    So, I used default NW locale which is MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS to run query.  No -L need. -L requires locale translation which sometimes is ambiguous and therefore I never use it - makes life much easier.
