MAC address setup

I'm having trouble setting mac defined port security.

I need to limit 1 Mac address to a port. I know this is doable but I am not sure how to go about it. New to the dell switch. Docunmmentation is a little spotty. What do I need to do. If some one could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    interface gX

    port sec mode lock

    port sec max addresses 1

    port sec discard-shutdown trap 30

    As a quick sample

    Thanks for that.

Willl this stop other MAC addresses from useing it. I guess what I mean is if I set it up in the above manner and I attach a device. When I remove that device and put some other device there will it learn the MAC of the new device and allow it to use the port or once it has learned 1 MAC it won't learn any more.

When I use your sugested setup it works fine to a point but If I plug something else in it learns that address and carries on. Is there a way to make that address a permenant address once it is learned.

Just make sure you issue this command when you have the desired PC active in the port - you wish to be valid.

no port sec max addresses 1

    port sec mode lock
