I'm trying to install a wifi card (ZyXel g-102) with a ZyXel router (P-330w), and even though the computer says the card is installed properly, I keep getting the 'found new hardware wizard' every time I restart the thing, and it looks for a network controller.  #1, what is a network controller?  I ask because I didn't think I needed one, and the wifi card is listed under network adapter in the device manager list, with no conflicts and apparently working properly.  I've gone through reinstall drivers, search for drivers, uninstall the controller, etc--all to no avail.  A hard connection (via ethernet cable) works on the computer, but I need the wifi capabilities.

 

This is driving me to drink--heavily.

 

Are there any drivers for this phantom network controller and if so, where do I get them from?

Is there any way I can get this wifi card to work?

Whate ever happened to 'plug-n-play'?

Fair warning, I'm a bit of a computer novice........
