Connection Setup problem or Something?
I am having a strange problem with my internet connection and settings I think.....ever since a Dell tech came & replaced my hard drive & had to reinstall winxp pro to it.....I had no idea how to setup my computer settings like I had before, so I'm assuming I set things up wrong or am missing some files? ?
I am on WinXP Pro
I have a cable modem connected into my (Airport Extreme)Router and Router connected to the Dell Dimension 8250 PC also..... (I have an apple powerbook that connects wireless to airport but that is working fine....it's the only reason I even have the Airport router)
Ok whenever I'm browsing the web (ANY browser) it suddenly stops working.... can't load pages anymore untill I restart the pc BUT I can still connect with everything else,,
For Instance....
I can still update antivirus software, messenger programs work, email can still be recieved thru thunderbird, can still download/upload files from ftp software if I want....just no web browsing.
I tried using "command prompt" to ping localhost and that 127.0 ip and EVERYTHING.... but only get this:

Also....whenever I try to type ipconfig in run box, my firewall asks for access from ipconfig.exe ....I click yes,,,,then the command prompt screen pops up on screen for half a second and thats it!
'Somethings wrong I think......this has all been since I clean installed WinXP.... maybe I didn't add some needed files or something? Ughhhhh Soooo frustrating :smileywink:
