dial up network
I HAVE 2 DELL DIMENSION XP'S. I HAVE A DIAL UP CONNECTION THRU AOL ON ONE. I WANT TO CONNECT THEM TOGETHER WITHOUT A BUNCH OF WIRES. I HAVE TRIED ENABLING INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING, ETC. THE MODEMS SHOULD COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER.....OR AM I MISUNDERSTANDING SOMETHING. I HAVE NETWORK ADAPTERS FACTORY INSTALLED ON BOTH. DOES THIS NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. DO I NEED A HPNA? AND IF SO WHAT KIND WOULD YOU RECOMMEND. I AM VERY NEW AT THIS SO PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY. I AM ONE OF THOSE WHO GETS FRUSTRATED AND ENDS UP CALLING RENT-A-GEEK. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THAT DIFFICULT BUT MAYBE I AM MISSING SOMETHING. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY IDEAS YOU CAN SHARE WITH ME.

Look at the following resource for Internet Connection Sharing with Dialup, however, to netwrok the two machines, all you need is a crossover cable to run between the two Network Cards.
