Good day everyone, I am hoping someone can help me out with this issue I've been having for a week.

Here is part of my laptop specification

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501

Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) SP1
Bios version 2.4.1
Processor: Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3500+, ~1.8 GHz

I had this laptop for almost two years, and it has performed well keeping me online and such. Now... not so much.

I have noticed however that it seems to randomly disconnect from my home network, when the icon on the taskbar shows" limited connectivity". Attempting to refresh/reconnect results in " no available networks" which is only remedied by restarting. Turning wireless on/off doesn't work. In all other aspects however the network works- file and internet sharing, LAN gaming etc.

The wireless router I normally use is a Linksy Wireless G WRT54G VR currently displaying channel 1 (Used to be channel 6 and 11 when I started having problems). Two other laptops are able to connect no problem. I can connect with no problem, but for some reason, I assume my wifi is failing me for some reason. If I am in a different location, I will have no issue.

Other helpful things:
I recently created a static IP address
I recently port forwarded to play an online game. The port forward is now reversed since I am having issues.
I use WPA personal and I can connect no problem when computer starts up.
The driver my wifi use is up to date.
There are no cordless phones around me only a microwave, but even if the microwave is far away, I still have issue.
I live at an apartment where I can view at least 12 different other wireless network.
