I have a latitude c-600. it has a 3 Com 56K V.90 Mini Pc modem installed from factory. For the last week we have had major problems with getting online. It started when computer would not shut off with power switch but would go into suspend mode. i had to take out battery to reboot computer.
Now when the computer is turned on from a cold restart, it will not connect online. it gives a message saying that modem is not available or needs to be reconfigured or is not working. It does with both juno and Compuserve. When i do a system restore it will work after awhile but I have checked device manager and it says modem is functioning properly. If I leave in suspend mode, I can generally get online but if I turn off it probably will not work again. it is very frustrating. I thought maybe the driver was corrupt but can find no upadte for it online. the version number is 5.0.0.2
I am not even sure this the problem.
