MS5320W - Scroll wheel design flaw
Anyone else found the MS5320W mouse scroll wheels have a design flaw?
Bought 50 of them as part of the KM7321W set...
And they've pretty much all failed on the scroll wheel - where it "judders" and goes up / down or zoom in / out at the same time.
Not firmware relevant.
All failed at just over a year.
Foolishly replaced 20.
They've also failed after a year.
So - It's not like this flaw is a recent thing, or a recently released mouse.

Severe Wireless Mouse Lag with WiFi 7 (BE6500) USB AdaptersI have found a definitive fix for severe mouse lagging on my Dell Precision 7820 (Service Tag: DFW0326) when using a high-speed WiFi 7 USB adapter alongside a 2.4GHz wireless mouse. [1, 2]The Issue:
High-speed adapters like the Realtek 8912AU (BE6500) flood the 2.4GHz spectrum, causing input stutter and jumps even if the mouse receiver is in a rear USB port.The Solution:- Open Device Manager and expand Network Adapters.
- Right-click Realtek 8912AU Wireless LAN WiFi 7 USB NIC and select Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and apply these settings:
- 2.4G AMSDU: Set to Disabled.
- 2.4G Wireless Mode: Set to Disabled.
- Preferred Band: Set to 6GHz.
This forces the WiFi adapter to stop aggressive transmissions on the 2.4GHz band, clearing the frequency for your wireless mouse receiver.Sorry to say I don't have this problem. I got mine from a good will and it has been working great for me for over a year (who knows how long it was used before) through dirt, sand, and dust. Though the scroll clicker is a little less sensitive than I would like.
Only works via bluetooth though, the dongle was missing when I bought it and so far have run into nothing but trouble trying to connect it to the "universal" replacement I bought. Will be starting a thread for that soon.

I had a same issue with Dell Pro Plus Mouse MS5320. Scroll up/down start doing random movements.
Quick fix: I opened mouse, sprayed isopropyl alcohol on both ends of wheel, let it dry for few mins. It started working as new.(edited)

Bought the MS5320W as part of Dell KM7321W KB+Mouse set in Dec 2024. While the KB continues to impress (albiet a battery monster), the mouse scroll wheel quickly gave away withing a few months.
It's a shame that even after paying a premium, one has to struggle with a sub standard quality product and an equally horrible warranty process.
