network connection/digital camera failure
Dimension 2400, windows xp home.
Two things
Trying to setup a network with another computer and both show the same error message."A network cable is unplugged".I cannot seem to get the to talk to one another Any ideas
The second is trying to connect a Panasonic DMC FX9 camera via its usb cable. The following error message occurs "Files C\download\driver\14209 is required insert your windows disk.
As this is an OEM disk there is on the label that it should only be used for reinstallation.The panasonic help line only refers me to consult the maker
Any advice thankfully recieved
- Yes Steve I have a crossover cable attached.But I seem to think that there is a programme that requires activating to enable a network to be set up .(Could be enbedded in the system) and thus obviates the need for a ethernet card,).I cannot find itAs to the other query I will try it outNodger

For problem 1, are you using a cross-over cable? You can only connect two computers together directly without an intervening hub or router if you use a cross-over cable. For problem 2, the reinstallation CD is the Windows XP CD. It has everything on it that a retail copy of the Windows XP CD has.
