I have the exact same problem! It takes me 5-7 minutes to start a program (I really only have word, excel, and the internet on there) and I can't even use word cause it takes 10 seconds for the screen to show what I have typed. And the machine is brand new. I was hoping to return it but I'll only get 85% of the value of the machine back and no refund for virus program ($120), software ($60), taxes ($80), or shipping.

You bought a netbook which is meant mostly for internet surfing etc and expect it to work like a laptop ???? That will work. NOT.
