I recently upgraded my Inspiron 5100 to a SXGA 15" LCD, since doing so, the wireless signal has dropped. Lots of noise and nigh on no connection. I'm presuming this is because the connection to the wireless antennae has been lost somehow. However, when taking off the LCD (complete top section including plastic surround) to replace with the same (complete LCD with surround) there were no wires to connect (apart from the main video cable), just the mechanical hinges.

 

Should there be wires for the antennae? Is there a diagram or photo anywhere showing how to check the antennae connections within the LCD panel?

Just seeing if it's a simple cable connection I need to do before ordering a new mini PCI card...
