I recently had a problem with my wireless card not finding the signal but then I realized I have to get close up to the router for it to get signal. I have a Dell 1500 Draft N card and a D-Link DI-614+ router. The computer with the Dell 1500 Draft N card can only reach about 20 feet before it looses signal. The other laptop I had had a Intel PRO 3945 card on it and it could be 90 feet away and still get excellent signal. I don't understand!? Is the Dell 1500 Draft N card not that powerful because it was advertised as a/b/g. This is a pretty old router and I installed the last firmware on it so it should be updated. Can a new card work with an old router. Also I took it to my friend's house to test the signal strength and he had a newer router (don't know the brand or model) and I could be at least 40 feet away. Any help would be great! Thanks!
