A month ago, I purchased an Optiplex tower and needed to install an SSD. The problem is, the motherboard is missing the nut that the SSD screws into. It's labeled on the motherboard as Nut+M2L3. I submitted a tech support case with pictures of the missing SSD nut. Dell sent out a tech with a new motherboard, which didn't address the problem at all. But the tech was nice and called the main office and got it all straightened out. A few days later I received an m.2 SSD screw (not the nut that the screw screws into). I contacted the tech again and he escalated the ticket. It was determined that I should return the unit to Dell and they would ship out a replacement Optiplex tower.
Umm, all I need is the nut. I can screw it into the chassis myself. Then I can install my SSD drive and be up and running. Can ANYONE help me get this part?

I have a similar issue to the user above, Think Blue Marble. So I just purchased a brand new Dell Optiplex and I'm trying to upgrade to an M.2 SSD. It has the Nut+M2L3 screw in the motherboard, however the drive did not come with and the motherboard is also missing the little screw that goes on top and holds down the SSD. Could you please assist?
Trying to replace ssd with a larger one on XPS 8940 desktop. The current drive has a short format, whereas the new one is longer. Both fit the motherboard; however; the screw that holds down the old drive has a smaller diameter than the hole in the motherboard for the new long drive so the screw that I removed from the old drive won't hold down the new one. Notwithstanding that, the motherboard has the same text next to both mounting holes: Nut +M2L3. How do I proceed to mount the new drive?
