I recently picked up a 5050 SFF and I have been struck with how cheap it seems compared to older Optiplexes I've owned. If I bumped the table the box shook and rattled like it was falling apart. I think a big part of the problem is the removeable cover is very thin and parts of the chassis are not as snug as they could be.

I decided to look to find some of the reasons for the rattling. I used some duct tape to hold down the PC express latch that is loose and rattley. After a while I realized the box is rocking/teetering on the the rubber feet, so I removed them with a pair of plyers. They can be put back in. As narrow as the box is and thick as the feet are the PC is not stable. Without the feet it doesn't rock. I have so far just put a little tape in the corners so the box doesn't slide as easily. 

It's a very capable little machine, and I didn't pay too much and it is really like-new, but it's hard to imagine buying this one at new price. I guess businesses don't care about the little things.

What the heck. I thought there might be a person out there wondering about the lack of stability of the box.
