Optiplex 7050 micro dead ram slot?
I recently bought a new 8GB DIMM to add to my existing 8GB DIMM, but adding it into the 2nd slot I get 2,7 diagnostic light indicating a memory failure. I'm certain the new DIMM is the exact same manufacturer and model as the original DIMM. The new DIMM works in slot 1, but I get errors when both DIMM's are inserted, or only one DIMM in slot 2. I've tried another identical DIMM, blowing out the 2nd DIMM slot with compressed air, a CMOS reset and replacing the CMOS battery. Anything else to try?
RAM info is Kingston 8GB 1Rx8 DDR4 PC4-2400T 21333MHz KMKYF9-MIHS

A Dead/defective memory slot is not a frequent problem but does occur. I had two slots, out of four, go bad on a desktop with an ASRock motherboard (fortunately it was in warranty and ASRock replaced it).
Considering what you have done, it suggests the slot is bad. If you still have any warranty contact them. Otherwise you will have to replace or pay a repair shop to replace the motherboard. Considering Dell's proprietary motherboards and connections only an identical model motherboard must be used.
